Charlotte is almost 2/3 of the way with her desensitization and doing great! She still has a positive attitude about driving to Des Moines every week and taking her maintenance dose twice daily because it gets her that much closer to eating real cake on her birthday! We are so proud of her!
The chart below shows that she will be on actual egg whites here in the next week or two. We order these egg whites online from a farm in Iowa that specializes in egg desensitization. They distribute all over the country.
Kinda crazy how far she has come! So far she has only had one reaction which set her back a week. The reaction was very minimal and only required Zyrtec to clear it up. Really we want to take the the time rather than hurry it along so she does it correctly and will be able to enjoy eggs and egg products. Think of the possibilities..... Deviled eggs, pastas, cake, cupcakes, mayo, doughnuts, breads, hotdog/hamburger buns, brownies, cookies, bagels, pancakes, ranch dips, waffles, cinnamon rolls, etc..
Charlotte being silly at the doctors office
Charlotte started preschool and is loving it and her new friends! She has come home singing new tunes and telling us all the fun things she is learning! I am now in the look out for new big girl preschool books for her to enjoy and keep her engaged and stimulated more than the books she currently has. Any suggestions from mamas or teachers?
