63 days to go!

How your baby's growing: 31 weeks down! Now in my 32nd week!

This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

We have an ultrasound today to check the size of baby Dugger. He has been measuring in advance for awhile now and my tummy has been measuring a couple of weeks ahead also so the doc wanted to make sure of the due date(sept 28th). My sister had a 10lbs baby boy so I would not be surprised if he is larger than Charlotte(7lbs 1oz) at birth. My guess is that my due date will stay the same but we will get another sneak peak of lil' man so I cannot complain!
Nursery update: We are having the nursery painted this week!! So the finishing touches will be up after this weekend! We are going for a nautical/fishing/navy theme.. I will post pics soon!

30 weeks down! Now in my 31st week

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision – which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

Im am feeling great this week! We are on a family vacation in Michigan! We have made this trip for 29 years and we fall in love with Michigan all over again each year! I am enjoying all of the fresh fruit Michigan has to offer.. Blueberries, raspberries, cherries, ..yum yum!

We went to the zoo this past week and it is so amazing how each time we go Charlotte sees something new each time. You can just see how her brain expands right before your eyes. It is so cool to watch!

Nesting

How your baby BOY growing: 29 weeks down! Now in my 30th week

or

Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

Nesting is a funny thing. One day you are exhausted and the next day you have deep cleaned the entire lower level, cleaned out the pantry and cleaned out the fridge/freezer and it is only 11am! It is funny how the bug just hits you all of a sudden! I love it!
Charlotte has moved into her BIG GIRL room so that frees up the nursery to bring in the BLUE!!! I have put the crib back to the highest position, put the bedding on, and added some accents of navy. The room still has pale pink walls but that will change in the next couple of weeks.
I am still having contractions and braxton hicks but thank goodness there is no pattern. I am finding that sleep is getting a little bit more challenging. My mind is occupied with some many things as I go to bed and then to top it off I am making multiple runs to the bathroom at night! Im guessing this is my body's way of saying.. "this is the start of no sleep for you missy"!

Baby You're a Firework!

Your toddler now 18months and 4 weeks

Building vocabulary

Your toddler's vocabulary will grow by leaps and bounds over the coming months. While the first single words are usually nouns ("cat," "ball," "bottle"), phrases that use nouns and verbs tend to follow within a few months of first words: "Me want." "Go bye-bye."

For every chatterbox, there's a child who's relatively quiet. It's still too early to worry about a late talker, although if your child doesn't speak at least 15 words by now, it's a good idea to consult your doctor, who may recommend seeing a speech therapist to rule out any problems.~ not too worried about Charlotte.. all she does is talk talk talk! She may not make perfect sense but she understands the "art of language".

The 4th of July weekend was filled with family, friends and watermelon! We had a great time seeing everyone and staying up past our bed time! We played in the water, walked in our neighborhood parade, went to a pettng zoo, and had great food!
Last week we took our first nap in our big girl room, and it was a success! It wasn't a long nap but hey it was more than I was expecting. Today marks the day we start "night night" time in the big girl room! Wish us luck!

Chinese Cabbage

How your baby BOY is growing: 28 weeks down! Now in 29th week

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

Well this week I have seen myself slowing down a bit. The heat has really gotten to me and I try to stay indoors when I can without feeling like a hermit crab. I have been battling dehydration this past week and I think I have finally got back on top of that. I bought a 24 pk of bottle water and I almost went through it over the 4th of July weekend!

We had another doctors visit and baby boy is measuring a week and a couple of days in advance and his heartbeat is 166.. a little higher than he has been but he is one active little man so I think he just got done with one of his routines in my belly :) We were able to get an ultrasound to check in on the little man! He is laying side to side with his with his bum and legs on my right and his head on my left. His head was facing my back so we didnt get a good look at his face but everything else looks great! From here on out my appointments are every other week. 84 days to go!
I started having pregnancy hot flashes! Holy Moly! I dream of a fan in front of me at all times!
Oh and I cannot forget about the heartburn! Sometimes after drinking water I will get heartburn. yikes!

Big girl Bedroom

Your toddler now 18 months 3 weeks

Keeping the crib – or not?

There's no optimal time to move your child to a big-kid bed. Some families make the switch to free up the crib for a younger sibling. (If that's you, start the process several months before your due date so your toddler doesn't link being kicked out of his bed with his baby brother or sister's arrival.) Others stick with the crib until their child is 3 or so.

Don't be too quick to make the move if you can avoid it. Keep in mind that once your child is in a bed, he can get up whenever he likes during the night. For that reason, many experienced parents advise keeping your child in the crib as long as you possibly can. Your child who slept so well in his crib is likely to start waking you up again.

Charlotte is moving into her new big girl bedroom after this weekend! We have painted the room and curtains are being delivered today so we can put the finishing touches together. I started moving over her books and clothes from room to room. I do a little bit more each day and she helps so it isnt such a shock to her when next week rolls around. We have made this a HUGE deal to Charlotte so she is excited and not mad when baby boy gets here. Plus we are doing it early enough so that she does not think baby boy will stealing her room.

Charlotte has started showing Big Sis characteristics already! She changes her Teddy Bear's diapers all the time .. they dont always get on the right way but hey she gets the concept and we are hoping she will want to help us out with baby boy!
